GENOESE FOCACCIA

Sage

The appetizing with Sage

A typical plant of the Mediterranean areas, sage was already used since the old times for its multiple therapeutic properties; once it was brought to Genoa, someone thought to add it to the traditional focaccia dough, thus creating a soft variant with an aromatic flavor.

Dried and finely chopped sage is mixed together with the handmade dough. Once cooked, this focaccia releases a unique scent and an intense aroma and is excellent both served during the main meals to accompany the various dishes, and as an aperitif.
